The Hillsdale College Track and Field teams travel to Cedarville University this Friday and Saturday in Cedarville, Ohio for the annual Great Midwest Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championship Meet.

For the Charger women, it's a chance to defend the G-MAC title they won at Tiffin University in 2020, and claim their third indoor conference crown in four seasons, while the Hillsdale men will look to improve on a third-place finish with an exciting crop of young talent competing for individual titles.

Several Charger women return to defend individual titles, including junior Nikita Maines, a Division II National Meet provisional qualifier in both the shot put and weight throw and the defending G-MAC Champion in the weight throw.

On the track, senior Kajsa Johansson, the defending G-MAC champion in the 200m dash and the top seed in both the 60m and 200m dash leads the way. Johansson is currently ranked in the top 10 in Division II in both the 60m and 200m dash, and runs a leg on the Chargers' second-ranked 4x400 relay.

Former G-MAC Champions Zalonya Eby (60m, 200m dash) and Christina Sawyer (5,000m run) also compete for the Chargers this weekend, as well as the top seeds in the 400m dash (Dakota Stamm), and the 800m run (Calli Townsend), and in both the 4x400 relay and the distance medley relay.

On the men's side, Hillsdale's Ben Raffin headlines the Charger field events with the second seed and a Division II provisional qualifying mark in the pole vault.

On the track, an excellent freshman class is leading they way for Hillsdale. Sprinter Jamahl Burke, hurdler Sean Fagan, and mid-distance runner Micah Vanderkooi all earned G-MAC Men's Track Athlete of the Week honors at one point this season, and all carry either the top or near the top seed into their individual events this weekend.

They reinforce a strong Charger crew that includes four-time G-MAC Indoor placer and distance runner Mark Miller, All-G-MAC cross country runner Adam Wier, and seven-time G-MAC indoor placer Adam Wade, among others.
