The Hillsdale College men's track team competed in its final home meet of the indoor season at the Hillsdale Tune Up as it prepares for the G-MAC Championship meet next weekend in Tiffin, Ohio.

Senior Ian Brown has continually improved throughout his entire career, and today he had a big PR in the 60m hurdles, winning the event and running an NCAA Division II provisional standard of 8.21 seconds. 

Freshman Joseph Ritzer finished fourth in the 400m dash in 53.84 seconds, and senior David Downey took sixth in 54.02 seconds. 

Several Chargers raced the 800m run. Freshman Sean Hoeft and junior Mark Miller battled it out to the finish, taking a narrow first and second. Hoeft clocked in at 1:57.26 which is a new PR and Miller finished in 1:57.54. Freshman Isaac Waffle finished fourth in 1:59.52 and freshman Dylan Palmer took eighth in 2:02.61. 

In the field events, freshman Charlie Andrews high jumped to a fourth-place finish with a mark of 1.89 meters. In long jump, sophomore Will Syrus leapt 6.42 meters for a third place finish. Freshman Josh Nichols took second in triple jump with a mark of 13.20 meters. Syrus triple jumped as well taking fifth with a mark of 11.40 meters. 

Sophomore Steve Weideman improved his personal best for the second weekend in row, finishing second in weight throw with a mark of 15.57 meters. Fellow sophomore Kai Panethiere finished eighth with a mark of 13.21 meters. 

Senior Ryan Thomsen and sophomore John Baldwin competed in pole vault. The two finished second and seventh, respectively. Thomsen cleared 4.43 meters and Baldwin cleared 3.83 meters. 

The 4x400m relay team of freshmen Benu Meintjes and Ian Calvert, sophomore Jacob Schmidt and junior Adam Wade won with a time of 3:24.
