Men's Track Takes 2nd at Hillsdale Tune-Up

In its final competition before next week's conference championships, the Hillsdale College men's track team returned to its home venue for the Hillsdale Tune Up Saturday afternoon.

The Chargers took second place in the meet with 75 points. Nearby Adrian College was first with 126 points, while Taylor took third with 57 points.

Freshman Will Syrus picked up the team's lone first-place finish in the meet, winning the long jump by hitting 6.32 meters. Fellow freshman Ben Raffin scored a provo mark in the pole vault, finishing fourth by clearing 4.73 meters.

Morgan Morrison ran a strong race in taking second in the mile run with a time of 4:26.05. The Chargers' 4x400 relay team of Adam Wade, Levi Wyse, Jacob Schmidt and Nathan Pando also earned runner-up status with a time of 3:30.05.

The University of Findlay will act as the host of the 2019 Great Midwest Athletic Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships, which get underway Friday.
