The Charger men raced against the wind at the home track this weekend, battling the subfreezing temperatures and tying Michigan Tech in overall points.
Junior Nathan Pando represented Charger sprints well both in the 100 meter dash (10.99 seconds) and the 200 meters (22.77 seconds), winning both events.
In the 800 meters, sophomore Joey Humes and freshman Adam Wade took first (1:57.75) and second (1:57.94) coming in within two-tenths of a second of each other, which made for an exciting race.
Hillsdale's hurdlers, despite the chilly wind, ran hard in the 110 high hurdles, with sophomore Ian Brown winning the event with a time of 15.43 seconds, and senior Jared Schipper taking fourth with a time of 16.16 seconds.
In the long jump, junior dual-sport athlete Merrick Canada represented the Chargers well with a leap of 6.45 meters, taking first.
Finally, senior Daniel Capek threw an event-winning mark in the hammer throw of 48.04 meters, and junior Seth Overla also winning the Javelin with a throw of 49.43 meters.
