Charger men's tennis tops Kentucky Wesleyan 7-0 in first G-MAC match

The Hillsdale College men's tennis team bounced back from a tough loss less than 24 hours prior with a dominant 7-0 victory over Kentucky Wesleyan to kick off G-MAC play on Saturday.

The Chargers captured the doubles point thanks to a 6-2 win at No. 1 doubles by Tyler Conrad and Sean Barstow, and a 6-0 win at No. 2 doubles by Brennan Cimpeanu and Gabe Katz.

That dominance carried over to singles play, as the Chargers won all four contested matches. Conrad led the way with a 6-1, 6-4 win over John Thomas Hayden of KWC at No. 1 singles, and Cimpeanu also won in straight sets, 6-1, 6-0, over the Panthers' Wesley Matthews at No. 2 singles.

Barstow also won at No. 3 singles, 6-0, 6-0, for the Chargers, and Daniel Gilbert picked up a 6-0, 6-1 at No. 4 singles as well.

The Chargers improve to 9-2 overall, and continue their quest for a G-MAC title next Saturday at Cedarville in a match beginning at 11 a.m.
