The Hillsdale College men's golf team wrapped up the 2022-23 season with a 12th place finish in the G-MAC Championships on Monday and Tuesday at the University Club in Lexington, Kentucky.
The Chargers improved their score with each of the three rounds, shooting 303 in the second round and 301 on Tuesday in the final round, but couldn't climb out of the hole that a round of 315 on the first day left them in.
Junior Will Verduzco was the top finisher for the Chargers, shooting a 77-75-73=225 to finish tied for 18th place overall, and in the top third of the field. Verduzco played solid golf all three rounds and stayed out of trouble, finishing with 12 birdies across 54 holes while posting just four double bogeys and no triple bogeys.
Senior Carson Stohler also played well for the Chargers, bouncing back from a tough first-round score of 82 to shoot back-to-back 73s and finish tied for 29th overall with a three round score of 228.
Senior Drew Gandy shot a 77-78-76=231 to finish tied for 43rd overall, and senior Darragh Monaghan carded a 79-77-79=235 to tie for 49th and round out Hillsdale's scoring golfers.
