Charger men's golf team adds Oscar Darlington to Class of 2025

The Hillsdale College men's golf team is pleased to announce an addition to the Class of 2025, as Finnish national Oscar Darlington (Helsinki, Finland/Makelanrinteen Urheilulukio) has signed his letter of intent to join the Chargers in the fall of 2021.

One of the top junior amateur golfers in Finland over the last several years, Darlington won titles at the U14 Finnish International Junior Championships in 2014, shooting a three-round score of 220, and the U16 Finish International Junior Championships in 2016, carding a three-round score of 211. He's also finished as high as sixth in the European Young Masters event.

He currently holds a ranking of 21st among all amateur golfers in Finland, with a career scoring average of 74 and a tournament low round score of 67.

Darlington had a strong summer in 2020, taking second in the Fujitsu FJT Reikapeli Match Play Championship, 14th in the Finnish International Amateur, and eighth in the Fujitsu Finnish Junior Tour Final. These results propelled him to 348th in the European Amateur Golf Ranking. He's also played for the Finnish National Team in the past, helping his country take 12th at the 2018 European Boys Team Championship.

Darlington's signing, along with the signing of Italian national Filippo Reale earlier in November, continues a recent run of Hillsdale College bringing in talented players from overseas to compete for the Chargers.
