Golfers Make Strong Showing in Debut Performance

The Hillsdale College men's golf team made a triumphant return to competitive action over the weekend at the Kyle Ryman Shootout, held in Tiffin, Ohio.

Technical issues prevented Hillsdale's team scores from appearing in the tournament's final results. Hillsdale finished sixth out of the 10 competing teams with team scores of 303 in the first round and 313 in Sunday's second round.

Matt Chalberg fired off rounds of 73 and 74 for a two-day total of 147 to lead the Chargers. Joe Torres matched Chalberg's 73 on day one and finished with a two-round total of 155. Logan Kauffman was third among Hillsdale's group with a 76-81--157.

The team heads north this weekend to participate in the Al Watrous Memorial Collegiate Invitational, hosted by Saginaw Valley State University.
