The Charger women's basketball team, playing tough, competitive basketball against the top contenders in the league, will make the long trip south this week, facing Trevecca Nazarene Thursday and second-place Kentucky Wesleyan Saturday...Only one of the team's last seven games have been decided by double digits, with most of those being tight games well into the fourth quarter...The Trojans knocked off the Chargers 65-54 when the two teams last met on Jan. 18...These teams have alternated wins and losses versus one another over the course of their rivalry since 2017-18, with Trevecca winning the first and most recent meetings...Neither team has won conesutive games against the other...The Panthers have won three in a row over the Chargers and 30 in a row at home...That 30-game home winning streak ranks as the third-longest in all of Division II...KWC is the G-MAC's best defensive team, allowing 54 points per game, and carries an otherworldly +27 points per game scoring margin...Senior Julia Wacker is averaging 10.5 points and 10.5 rebounds in her last two games, and, headed into the final weeks of her career, is playing her best basketball...Hillsdale has just two home games remaining on the season, Feb. 13 vs. Tiffin and Feb. 20 vs. Cedarville.

Four teams sit within a half-game of one another at the top of the G-MAC men's basketball standings, and the Chargers are right in the middle of that quagmire...Back-to-back wins over Malone have given Hillsdale a 9-2 conference mark, tied with Walsh and Findlay and a half-game in front of Cedarville...This weekend, Hillsdale makes its final two-game road trip of the regular season, taking on Trevecca Thursday in Nashville and Kentucky Wesleyan Saturday in Owensboro...The Chargers sport the league's toughest defense, allowing 64.8 points per game and a 3-point field goal rate of 31.8 percent, both #1...The Chargers are a disciplined team, as reflected in how high they rank in Division II in the following categories: fewest turnovers per game (10.2, 9th in D2), fewest fouls per game (12.4, 2nd in D2) and scoring defense (64.8, 8th in D2)...Junior guard Connor Hill ranks 5th in Division II with a 3.6 assist-to-turnover ratio...This is the second time in less than a month Hillsdale is facing Trevecca and Kentucky Wesleyan, having beaten both of them at home back on Jan. 16 and 18...Hillsdale is 5-0 all-time vs. the Trojans after a 75-56 home win back on Jan. 18...The Chargers have won 3 of their last 4 games against the Panthers, including a 72-60 home victory on Jan. 16...After this weekend, Hillsdale has just one road game left in the regular season, Feb. 29 at Findlay.
