Chargers Win Back-to-Back Regional Games

Box Score

The Chargers finished their weekend on the road with a 73-62 victory over the University of Illinois Springfield.

Hillsdale led at the half 39-29 after a buzzer-beater by junior guard Dylan Lowry. Lowry went on to score 12 points.

Senior guard Nate Neveau got the second half started for the Chargers on a three-point shot with an assist by senior forward Gordon Behr. He added another two points off of a rebound about a minute later as well.

Neveau and Lowry were named to the All-Tournament Team, with Neveau taking home Tournament MVP honors.

A series of turnovers and missed shots led to a four and a half minute stretch without scoring from either team.

Sophomore forward Davis Larson broke the drought, however, with a three-pointer with 8:39 left in the game. His shot put the Chargers ahead 58-51 and started a 6-0 scoring run. This led to Hillsdale's largest lead of the game.

Larson led the Chargers in scoring with a career-high 19 points, along with contributing four rebounds and an assist. Behr added 14 points, four assists and four rebounds. Sophomore guard Connor Hill came off the bench to add 11 points.

Hillsdale outscored University of Illinois Springfield 46 to 37  percent. Three-pointers played a large role in the Chargers' offense as they went 10-21 from beyond the arc.
