For the second time in two weeks, a member of the Hillsdale College men's basketball team has taken home honors for the top player in the GLIAC South Division in a given week.
A week after Ryan Badowski won the honor, Monday afternoon it was junior guard Stedman Lowry's turn. He was named the GLIAC South Division Player of the Week, an award announced and chosen by the conference office.
Although Hillsdale played just one game last week, Lowry's torrid shooting game was more than enough to get him his first career conference honor.
Lowry led the Chargers to an 89-70 win over the University of Indianapolis thanks to a 28-point performance that was highlighted by 11-for-13 shooting from the field, a career-best percentage in a single game. Lowry nailed six of his seven 3-point attempts in a textbook display of shooting from all over the floor.
Hillsdale is off to a 3-0 start to the season, and Lowry is averaging more than 18 points per game. Lowry originally hails from Liberty Township, Ohio.
