For the third time this season, Charger senior Kyle Cooper has been named the GLIAC North Division Player of the Week.
The 6-foot-7 forward is turning in another impressive campaign for the 11-3 Hillsdale College Chargers. In two wins last week over Northwood and Lake Superior State, Cooper averaged 24 points and 12 rebounds per game, incresaing his conference-leading averages in both ctaegories.
Saturday, he hit the game-winning free throws in the Chargers; 82-80 win over the Lakers. His shots capped a furious rally by Hillsdale, who went on a 27-11 run over the last five minutes to pull out a dramatic victory over LSSU.
He currently leads the GLIAC in scoring average, 23.7 points per game, and he ranks second in rebounds per game, fourth in minutes played, eighth in 3-point shooting percentage, and first in field goals made.
He's the only player in the GLIAC averaging at least 20 points and 10 rebounds per game. In 2014-15, he was the only player in the Midwest Region to average 20-10 for the season.
Cooper played his prep basketball at Detroit Catholic Central, and he hails from Northville, Michigan.
