Luke Keller Named G-MAC Offensive Player of the Week

The evolution of a young quarterback is an exciting thing to follow for football fans. Luke Keller has been giving Charger fans some great stuff in recent weeks.

Keller, a redshirt-freshman, was named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week after earning the first road victory of his career. The award was announced and chosen by the conference office.

Hillsdale climbed back from a 16-point second-half deficit to post a 37-30 overtime win at Northwood on Saturday, and Keller was right in the middle of the comeback. He ran for the game-winning touchdown in overtime, part of his 40-yard rushing effort. He also completed 15 of 25 passes for 228 yards and two scores, throwing scoring passes to Konnor Maloney and Alec Foos. His TD pass to Foos came on the first play of the fourth quarter, and cut the Charger deficit in half, from 16 to 8 points, putting the team in position to tie the game later in the quarter.

Over his last two-plus games, Keller has thrown 68 consecutive passes without an interception and has guided an offense that has scored 139 points during the current four-game winning streak, an average of 34.8 points per game.

He played his high school football in Zionsville, Indiana.
