EXTRA POINTS:

  • One of the premier matchups in the entire Great MIdwest Athletic Conference for the 2018 season will unfold Saturday afternoon in Findlay, Ohio, as the Chargers will shoot for their fourth win in a row, taking on an explosive Findlay Oiler program
  • Hillsdale leads the all-time series with Findlay 15-11-1, however, the Oilers have dominated this matchup over the past four years, going 4-0 vs. Hillsdale since 2014...Findlay has averaged 42.8 points per game in those four matchups...Hillsdale's last win over Findlay came on November 5, 2011, a 49-19 victory
  • Last week the Oilers set a conference record for points in a game in a 70-7 win over Lake Erie
  • This game matches us the G-MAC's top scoring offense (Findlay) against the best scoring defense (Hillsdale)
  • A win by the Chargers would give them a one-game lead over Ohio Dominican and a two-game lead over Findlay, owning tiebreakers over both teams in the conference standings
  • Last week Chance Stewart threw for 450 yards and 4 touchdowns...He became the first quarterback in school history with two 400-yard games in his career, and he needs 95 yards passing this week to become the second signal-caller in school history with 8,000 or more passing yards
  • Stewart is No. 1 in the G-MAC averaging 300.2 yards of total offense per game
  • Senior WR Trey Brock is 20 receptions away from owning the "triple crown" of wide receiver career records with the Chargers...His 27 touchdown receptions are a new school career record, and he continues to put the career receiving yards record further out of reach, with 3,342 yards and counting
  • Konnor Maloney and Brock rank 2-3 in the G-MAC in average receiving yards per game, a deceiving stat because Brock played just one series in the team's season opening win over Mercyhurst on Sept. 1
  • Sophomore kicker Joe Philipp is tied for the conference lead in average points scored per game (6.0)
  • Two of Hillsdale's emerging players on the defensive line - Schuyler Snell and Zach VanValkenburg - are tied for second in the G-MAC, averaging 0.9 sacks per game
  • The combined records of Hillsdale's next three opponents after this game is 4-10
