Joe Philipp Wins 2nd G-MAC Weekly Award

As the Hillsdale College football program earned team recognition Saturday, two of its individuals were also honored Monday morning.

Sophomore placekicker Joe Philipp was named the Great MIdwest Athletic Conference Special Teams Player of the Week. The award was chosen and announced by the conference office. This is the second time this season Philipp has been so honored, having previously won the award back on October 8.

Philipp was accurate and reliable during Hillsdale's G-MAC title-clinching win Saturday over Tiffin. He booted two field goals and kicked six extra points, going 8-for-8 overall on the day. His 12 kicking points are tied for second-most in a single game by a kicker in G-MAC history.

Entering play in Week 11, Philipp leads the G-MAC in scoring among kickers with 6.9 points per game, 69 total for the season. He has converted 39 extra-point attempts and is 10-for-15 on field goals.

Philipp hails from Hillsdale, Michigan.
