The Series
Hillsdale leads the all-time series with Indianapolis 15-14, though the Greyhounds have enjoyed the upper hand of late. UIndy has won three straight games over the Chargers, including last year's 38-7 decision at Hillsdale. The Chargers' last win over the 'Hounds came on Sept. 19, 2009, when it recorded a 23-0 shutout. That was the last home shutout recorded by Hillsdale.

Extra Points

  • These two teams opened the 2004 and 2005 seasons against one another. They split those games, with the Chargers winning a 49-43 four overtime classic in 2004.
  • Hillsdale plays three of its first four games at home, and three of its last four games at home. However, the Chargers are home just once between Sept. 25 and Nov. 4.
  • Timmy Mills, a junior wide receiver at Hillsdale, has an older brother Chris, who was a quarterback for Indianapolis earlier this decade.
  • The Chargers won five straight season openers from 2006-10, but have now lost five straight Week 1 games, dating back to 2011.
  • Keith Otterbein is the dean of GLIAC head football coaches. He's entering his 15th season coaching the Chargers (his alma mater), the longest tenure of any coach with his current program. Otterbein also coached at Ferris State from 1986-94, making 2016 his 24th season coaching in the GLIAC.
