Ring Named All-American by ABCA

2019 Rawlings ABCA Division II All-American Release

There was yet one more record for Charger baseball player Steven Ring to set.

Over the weekend, Ring was named Second-Team All-American by the American Baseball Coaches Association. He earned his award at the designated hitter position.

With this award, Ring became the first Hillsdale College baseball player to ever be named an NCAA Division II All-American twice. He was previously named All-American following the 2017 season.

Hillsdale's single-season and career leader in home runs, Ring belted 18 round-trippers in the 2019 season, leading the G-MAC . That gave him a career total of 53 home runs, which exceeded the previous school record by 20. His 58 runs batted in last season gave him a career total of 191, which is 63 more than any other player in school hiztory.

Ring concluded his career, fittingly, with a home run versus Ohio Dominican on May 5, in the final swing of his collegiate career. He was one of two G-MAC players to be named All-American by the ABCA, joining Walh's Andrew Czech.
