Full list of Hillsdale Academic All-Conference honorees for 2023-24
The Hillsdale College athletic department finished another strong campaign on the playing field in the 2023-24 school year with unprecedented recognition for the work their student-athletes put in off the court.
A total of 160 Hillsdale College athletes earned G-MAC Academic All-Conference honors for the 2023-24 school year, in keeping with a strong showing by the department every year in the award. At least one athlete from every one of Hillsdale's 14 NCAA-sponsored varsity sports programs were represented on this year's list, and students working towards degrees in 23 of Hillsdale's 35 major programs, including eight double majors. To earn G-MAC Academic All-Conference honors, a student athlete must have a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher, have completed one full academic year at the nominating institution and be an active member of an athletic team.
Nearly half of all Chargers student athletes met that mark in 2022-23, with 41% of Hillsdale's 390 student athletes receiving Academic All-Conference honors. The Chargers football team led the way in terms of raw numbers with 48 total honorees, while women's cross country (9 of 12, 75%) and men's tennis (6 of 8, 75%) were tops in terms of percentage of their teams receiving the honor. Softball (13 of 19, 68.4%), women's swimming (13 of 19, 68.4%), and volleyball (12 of 18, 66.7%) also recorded high percentages of their athletes receiving Academic All-Conference honors.
All told, 12 of 14 of Hillsdale's athletic programs had 40% or more of their athletes receive Academic All-Conference honors, and 10 of the 14 had more than half of their roster earn the distinction.
