A Better Kind of Glory
Apr 19, 2021
This documentary tells the story of the 1955 Hillsdale College Football team. Part of one of the greatest runs in program history, the Chargers were undefeated and regarded as one of the top teams in the country when they were selected to play in the Tangerine Bowl on New Year's Day in Orlando, Florida, the first bowl bid in school history -- but only if they left behind four black Hillsdale players. What the Chargers chose to do in response became a defining moment in Hillsdale College football history, and in college football history at large. Directed by Stefan Kleinhenz and written by Reagan Meyer, with the help of the Hillsdale College Dow Journalism Program.
