Dick Lowry

The head football coach from 1980-96, Dick Lowry sparked a sudden and impressive revival in the Charger program upon his arrival from conference rival Wayne State. He led Hillsdale to five GLIAC titles, one Midwest Intercollegiate Football title and the 1985 NAIA national championship. Coach Lowry was named GLIAC Coach of the Year six times and still holds the single-season school record for wins in a season with 12, achieved in 1982. His career total of 134 wins and .705 winning percentage each rank second in the 120-plus year history of Hillsdale College football.
