Depies Leads Charger Women to Second Place at G-MAC Championships

The Chargers fell to the Walsh University Cavaliers in the 2018 G-MAC Championships. It was a tough battle for the top three teams. The Cavaliers captured first place with 34 points. Hillsdale took second with 52 and the Cedarville Yellow Jackets were close behind with 54.

The first pair of Chargers to cross the finish line was sophomore Maryssa Depies and junior Arena Lewis, taking second and third respectively. Depies finished with a time of 22:48.7 and Lewis came in at 22:56.4. They finished between two Cavaliers who took first and fourth.

The next Charger to finish was sophomore Christina Sawyer in eighth, with a time of 23:19.8. 

Senior Ally Eads and sophomore Lauren Peterson came in nearly together, earning 19th and 20th. Eads finished in 24:06.1 and Peterson in 24:07.1. 

Rounding out the scoring runners for Hillsdale was sophomore Megan Poole in 25th with a time of 24:22.1, just a few seconds off her personal best. The seventh Charger was Kate Vanderstelt in 32nd in 24:51.2. 

The Chargers still have the regional meet to look forward to on Nov. 17, which will be hosted on their home course.
