Women's Cross Country Places 3rd at Pre-National Meet in Pennsylvania

Thirty teams and 293 runners competed in the 2018 Pre-Nationals Meet hosted by Slippery Rock University in Pittsburgh, Penn. The Chargers took third overall, with 128 points, falling to the Colorado Mines, 37, and conference rival, Walsh University, 91.

Sophomore Maryssa Depies led the Chargers, taking 8th place in 22:56. 

The next pack of Chargers to cross the finish line consisted of sophomore Christina Sawyer in 23:07, senior Allysen Eads in 23:15 and sophomore Lauren Peterson in 23:49. The three took 16th, 21st and 36th, respectively. Peterson's time of 23:49 is a new personal best, beating her old record of 24:39 from earlier this season.

Junior Kate Vanderstelt earned herself a new personal best time as well, finishing in 24:00, taking 47th overall and fifth for the Chargers. 

The team has finished up some tough training and is now gearing up for the G-MAC championship meet on Nov. 3 in Canton, Ohio.
