Women Compete Versus D1 Teams at Greater Louisville Classic

The 10th-ranked Charger women's cross country team ran against a deep field of Division I competitiion at Saturday's Greater Louisville Classic.

As a team, Hillsdale finished 12th in the 26-team field with 346 points. The University of Michigan took first in the Gold race with 46 points, followed by Eastern Kentucky (120) and Southern Methodist University (160).

Sophomore Maryssa Depies was the Chargers' top runner, placing 40th overall with a time of 17:49.1. Not far behind her was teammate Arena Lewis, who was 46th in the field with a time of 17:57.3. 

There were a total of 226 runners in the Gold race.

Sophomore Christina Sawyer was the team's third-place runner, finishing 61st overall with a time of 18:18.5. Senior Allysen Eads took 88th overall in 18:33.1.

Hillsdale will compete at home next weekend at the Hillsdale Invitational, held at Hayden Park.
