Senior Weekend Opens With Sweep of ODU

The entire roster contributed to a 3-0 win by the Charger volleyball team Friday night over Ohio Dominican University.

The team stays undefeated in conference play with an 18-0 record. It can finish the year unblemished in G-MAC matches with a win over Walsh Saturday night.

A total of 12 different players recorded kills in a balanced effort for Hillsdale. The Chargers won the sets by scores of 25-14, 25-18 and 25-21. Hillsdale ran an effective offense, hitting .333 as a team in the match, with a set-high percentage of .464 in the opening set. On the other side, the Chargers limited the Panthers to a .060 hitting percentage for the match.

Senior Kara Vyletel was deadly, connecting on 11 kills with no errors and a .500 hitting percentage. Sophomore Maddie Clark displayed some nice power in finishing with 10 kills, her second-highest total in a match this year. Her .533 hitting percentage was also a big factor in the win.

Senior Taylor Bennett handled setting duties over the final two sets and had 27 assists. Junior Taylor Wiese pulled up 17 digs on defense for the Chargers.
