Jackie Langer Wins Final G-MAC Player of the Week Award for 2017 Season

She saved her best for last.

Charger volleyball senior Jackie Langer put together some of the finest volleyball of her career when her team needed it most, and as a result, she was a recipient of the final G-MAC Player of the Week award of the season.

Langer was named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference West Division Player of the Week for the week of the conference tournament, won by Hillsdale College. The award was announced and chosen by the conference office.

This is the second week in a row Langer has been named the West Division's top player. She played a significant factor in Hillsdale's tournament title, playing well and playing big at key moments throughout the team's three victories last week.

In Thursday's quarterfinal win over Davis & Elkins, she hit a career-best .889 with 8 kills on 9 total attempts. In a 3-1 semifinal win over Walsh Friday, Langer exploded for a season-high 22 kills as the Chargers pulled out a tight win over the Cavaliers. Those 22 kills tied Kara Vyletel's 22 in the season opener as the most by any Charger player this season.

She wrapped up her home career in Saturday's championship win over Findlay with 11 kills and 13 digs as Hillsdale captured the G-MAC title in its first season in the league. For the weekend she averaged more than 5 kills per set and 4 digs per set as her all-around skills were on full display.

Langer and the Chargers now head to NCAA Division II Midwest Regional play next week against Findlay at Lewis University Nov. 30.
