In its final home meet of the indoor season, the Hillsdale College women's track team emerged victorious at the Hillsdale Tune-Up Saturday afternoon at the Margot V. Biermann Athletic Center.

The Chargers can now turn their attention to next weekend's 2019 Great Midwest Athletic Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships, which will be hosted by the University of Findlay starting Friday.

Hillsdale won the meet with a total of 94 points, using its depth effectively across most of the events at the meet. Spring Arbor took second with 77 points, followed by 69 from Taylor.

Freshman thrower Nikita Maines made her mark once again, winning the shot put with a record-tying toss of 14.09 meters. That was also a meet record and tied her own school record from earlier in the season. She also took fourth place in the weight throw at 14.90 meters.

Kajsa Johnasson continued her excellent indoor season, taking first place in the 60 meter dash with an impressive time of 7.73 seconds. That is only 0.03 seconds from the school record in that event.

Two more freshman placed highly for Hillsdale. Claire McNally was third in the mile run at 5:25.09 while Alanna O'Leary won the 200 meter dash in 26.29 seconds.
