Molly Oren's 8th All-American Honor Finishes Brilliant Career

As the 2016-17 athletic year comes to a close, it was only fitting that one of Hillsdale's most decorated athletes in recent memory capped it with another All-American recognition.

Senior Molly Oren placed sixth in the 3000 meter steeplechase as part of the 2017 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships, held in Bradenton, Florida this weekend. Oren's final time was 10:11.37

Oren finished sixth or better in the steeplechase each of the past three years, leaving her mark as one of Division II's best of this era.

She hovered around 1:22 in most of her splits, but she closed strong with a 1:17 split to end her final collegiate race. Oren was Hillsdale's only All-American at this year's outdoor national championships.

Other Charger performances at this year's NCAAs:

Sophomore Allysen Eads competed at NCAA outdoor championships for the first time, and she completed the 3000 meter steeplechase in 10:50.95.

Alexandra Whitford placed ninth in the pole vault, clearing 3.93 meters.

The 4x400 relay team came within .2 seconds of the school record, but did not qualify for the finals. The foursome of Allison Duber, Abbie Porter, Victoria Wichman and Ashlee Moran finished with a time of 3:43.43.

Duber ran in the 400 meter prelims as an individual, and timed out at 56.01 seconds.

Hannah McIntyre placed 17th in the 5000 meter run with a time of 17:01.43.
