Jesse Owens Classic Results

Al Owens Classic Results

The talent from the Hillsdale College women's track team was spread across a couple of big-time venues this weekend.

Some members ran at the Al Owens Classic, hosted by Grand Valley State University. Highlighting the action there was All-American distance runners Molly Oren and Hannah McIntyre, who finished third and fourth in the 1500 meter run, respectively. Oren's time of 4:31.17 was just .42 seconds faster than her teammate. They were the top two collegiate runners in that event at the meet.

Fellow distance runner Arena Lewis was the runner-up in the 5000 meter run, finishing with a time of 17:26.53.

Another group of athletes traveled south to the Jesse Owens Classic hosted by Ohio State University.

Sophomore Allysen Eads took sixth in her specialty event, the 3000 meter steeplechase. She finished with a time of 10:44.39.

Senior Allison Duber ran the lead leg of the 4x400 relay team, which finished fourth with a 3:48.52. She was joined in the relay by Victoria Wichman, Lorina Clemence and Ashlee Moran.

Duber also took eighth in the 400 meter dash with a time of 56.03 seconds.

Alexandra Whitford placed ninth in the pole vault, clearing 3.73 meters.

The team will next take the track at home, at next weekend's 51st Annual Hillsdale College Gina Relays.
