2016 CoSIDA Academic All-American Track & Field Release

Emily Oren was crowned as the finest female student-athlete in track & field in all of NCAA Division II Thursday afternoon.

Oren was named the Academic All-American of the Year by the College Sports Information Directors of America. The award, sponsored by Capital One, was voted on by sports information directors nationwide.

Not only was Oren named an Academic All-American, she was singled out as the Women's Track Academic All-American of the Year. She is the only women's track athlete in Division II to receive this honor.

In 2015-16, Hillsdale College athletics earned the incredibly rare honor of having two CoSIDA Academic All-Americans of the Year. Kyle Cooper was the winner in men's basketball, joining Oren at the top of their respective classes.

Oren, a nine-time NCAA Division II national champion, will be honored next week at USC was the winner of the Honda Division II Women's Athlete of the Year. These awards cap a career that allows her to stand alone as the most-honored athlete in Charger athletics history.
