The 2019-20 Hillsdale College women's tennis team made its home debut on a cool Friday afternoon at the Mary Jane Delp Courts, and rose above three other teams at the Hillsdale Invitational.

Chargers emerged victorious across several singles and doubles flights at the tournament, which featured teams from Tiffin University, Judson University and St. Mary's (Indiana).

The doubles team of Katie Bell and Sarah Hackman won the B flight, picking up wins over St. mary's (6-1) and Tiffin (7-6 (1)).

The C flight doubles team of Canela Luna and Sophia Spinazze cruised through their bracket, beating Judson and Tiffin by identical 6-2 scores.

Hillsdale also won the D flight doubles, as Elli Formentin and Elli Chawner won their matches 6-0 and 6-4.

Hannah Cimpeanu came out on top in the A flight singles bracket with wins over St. Mary's 6-1, 6-1 and Tiffin 2-6, 7-6 (4), 11-9. Sophomore Sarah Hackman was also the winner of the B flight singles, winning 6-1, 6-1 over Judson and 4-6, 6-3, 10-5 over Tiffin.

Senior Kamryn Matthews put on an impressive performance and lost just one set in breezing through the D flight singles bracket. Spinazze matched Matthews' scpres in winning the E flight singles bracket, also by scores of 6-1, 6-0 and 6-0, 6-0.

Luna, who made her home collegiate debut on this day, won the F flight with victories of 6-0, 6-3 and 6-0, 6-1.
