The Hillsdale College women's tennis team celebrated a special day at the Margot V. Biermann Athletic Center Saturday afternoon. Before its match versus Cedarville, it honored its four-member senior class of Julia Formentin, Halle Hyman, Madeline Bissett and Corinne Prost.

After those festivities, the team blanked the Yellow Jackets 7-0 to complete an undefeated conference regular season, wrapping up its second straight Great Midwest Athletic Conference regular season championship. The Chargers are 14-2 overall and 7-0 in the conference heading into next weekend's conference tournament.

All four seniors played key roles in Hillsdale's title-clinching win.

Formentin saw action at both singles and doubles, winning 6-1, 6-4 at No. 6 singles. She teamed up with freshman Sophia Spinazze for a 6-3 win at No. 3 doubles.

Bissett also earned two wins, 6-1, 6-0 at No. 5 singles, while she was joined by regular partner Kamryn Matthews for a 6-1 win at No. 2 doubles.

Prost rebounded from a first-set loss to post a 2-6, 6-2, 10-7 victory at No. 4 singles, helping to keep Cedarville off the board.

Hyman closed out a fantastic home career with a 6-0, 6-0 shutout at No. 3 singles, and a 6-0 shutout win at No. 1 doubles, along with partner Katie Bell. It was a fittingly successful final home day for Hyman, the 2018 conference player of the year.

Sophomore Hannah Cimpeanu was a 6-2, 6-2 winner at No. 1 singles, while freshman Sarah Hackman was a 6-3, 6-0 victor at No. 2 singles.
