The final road trip of the 2019 regular season was a successful one for the Hillsdale College women's tennis team.
After getting its most severe test of the year Saturday, Hillsdale passed another one Sunday in a 5-2 win over the University of Findlay in Ohio. This makes the Chargers 13-2, their best-ever record through 15 matches.
Hillsdale captured the doubles point thanks to wins by Kamryn Matthews and Madeline Bissett at No. 3 (6-4) and Hannah Cimpeanu and Sarah Hackman at No. 2 (6-1).
Matthews, who celebrated her birthday on Thursday, completed a 4-0 week with a 6-1, 6-3 win at No. 5 singles. Junior Katie Bell was a 6-2, 6-4 victor at No. 4 singles, while senior Halle Hyman breezed to a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 3 singles.
Hillsdale is back home next weekend to wrap up the regular season.
