Going on winning streaks has been contagious for players on both the Hillsdale College men's and women's tennis teams. And players from both teams are being rewarded.
Junior Halle Hyman was named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week Tuesday afternoon. The award was announced and chosen by the conference office.
This marked the second time Hyman has been named the G-MAC's top player in a given week this season. She previously won the conference award on February 28.
During an unbeaten week for the Chargers, Hyman herself went 6-0 between singles and doubles matches, winning all of them by healthy margins.
She won her three singles matches by scores of 6-0, 6-0, 6-1, 6-0 and 6-3, 6-1, over Ursuline, Kentucky Wesleyan and Cedarville, respectively. In doubles action, she won her three matches by a combined score of 24-4 with partner Hannah Cimpeanu.
Hyman and Cimpeanu have won six matches in a row and have a record of 10-2 this season.
