2013-14: Showed significant improvement in her sophomore season, compiling a 9-8 record in singles competition...Went 6-3 in GLIAC singles play, the best winning percentage on the team...Played three matches at No. 5 singles and the rest at No. 6...Teamed up with Dana Grace Buck 14 times in doubles competition, racking up an 8-6 record.

2012-13: Compiled a 5-13 record in singles and 5-11 record in doubles…Finished the spring portion of the season strong, with a love-love win over Huntington and a 6-2, 6-4 win over Aquinas…Also won back-to-back singles matches against GLIAC foes Lake Erie and Malone Oct. 13 and Oct. 14.

 

High School: Rachel is the third child in her family to attend, and play athletics at Hillsdale College, joining brother Cameron and sister Kaylyn, both of whom participated in track and cross country...Earned three varsity tennis letters during her prep career, and twice qualified for the state tournament in doubles...Was her conference’s #2 singles champion in 2010 and 2011 and earned First-Team All-Conference honors in both seasons...Has three years’ experience playing in the USTA Intermediate Junior Tennis League, and was part of a team that finished second at a national tournament in Arizona. She has worked in her hometown area as a tennis instructor for four years, teaching children as old as 15 the finer points of the game..She also earned varsity letters in soccer and track during her prep career...In the classroom, Blaauw has been selected to the high honor roll three times, and was also involved in the Praise Crowd Committee, which gathers students to learn about God after various school events. Her mother Karen is a tennis instructor in Chicago’s south suburbs...Member of the National Honor Society...Born September 29, 1994...Parents are Heino and Karen.
