Swimming Team Keeps Up Winning Ways With Win Over DePauw

Saturday afternoon the Hillsdale College swim team won against DePauw University 162-118.

Charger sprinters took 1-2-3-4 in the 50 freestyle. Freshman Marie Taylor lead the way (25.12), junior Katherine Heeres second (25.55), junior Emma Rao third (26.17), and sophomore Becca Briskey fourth (26.34).

Heeres continued her success and won the 100 IM (1:03.02) and the 100 freestyle (55.48). She was also part of the winning 200 freestyle relay.

Freshman Leah Tunney won the 100 backstroke (1:01.02), won the 200 IM (2:16.72), took second in the 50 backstroke (28.80), and was part of the winning 200 medley relay.

Freshman Madison Pyhel won the 200 freestyle (1:59.78), took second in the 50 butterfly (28.33), and second in the 100 butterfly (1:01.13).

Freshman Anika Fassett won the 50 butterfly (27.70), took second in the 100 freestyle (57.53), and was part of the winning 200 medley relay.

Senior Victoria Addis won the 50 breaststroke (31.81) and was part of the winning 200 medley relay.

Freshman Sarah Clark finished second in the 500 freestyle (5:25.46), and third in the 200 freestyle (2:03.73).

Sophomore Maddie Breay took second in the 100 breaststroke (1:12.33) and sophomore Taylor Boyle took third (1:13.12). Boyle also finished third in the 50 breaststroke (32.51)

The 200 medley A-relay of Tunney, Addis, Fassett, and Rao won (1:52.34) and the B-relay of Bickerstaff, Boyle, A. Clark, and Henderson took third (1:55.81).

The 200 freestyle A-relay of Taylor, Henderson, Heeres, and Rao took second (1:41.77), and the B-relay of Voisin, Snell, Bickerstaff, and Fassett took third (1:46.10)

Other top swims included freshman Hannah Douthitt third in the 100 backstroke (1:05.35), freshman Sydney Slepian third in the 50 backstroke (29.52), and sophomore Anna Clark third in the 100 butterfly (1:01.94).
