Friday evening the Hillsdale College swim team beat Calvin College 118.5-112.5 after spotting them 26 points for diving. The Chargers lost to Grand Valley State University 162-67.

Freshmen Leah Tunney scored crucial points for the Chargers and placed second in all three of her events; 1000 (10:33.04), 200 IM (2:13.53), 100 backstroke (59.30).

Freshman sprinter Marie Taylor had strong third place finishes in the 50 freestyle (25.02) and 100 freestyle (55.11). Freshman Madison Pyhel also had a solid third place in the 500 (5:15.73).

The Chargers scored well across the board in the 100 butterfly. Freshman Anika Fassett had a very strong swim for second (59.81), senior Catherine Voisin finished fifth (1:00.73), and sophomore Stefanie Walker took eighth (1:02.14).

The 200 freestyle was another strong event for the Chargers. Junior Katherine Heeres finished second (1:58.76), freshman Madison Pyhel fifth (2:00.55), and freshman Sarah Clark eighth (2:04.63).

The 100 breaststroke had solid swims with senior Victoria Addis placing second (1:10.59) and sophomore Maddie Breay fifth (1:11.95).

Other notable swims include: sophomore Anna Clark fifth in the 1000 (11:27.27), junior Emma Rao fifth in the 50 freestyle (25.29), Heeres fifth in the 100 backstroke (1:01.02), freshman Sarah Clark sixth in the 500 (5:26.45), senior Danielle Snell sixth in the 100 freestyle (57.04), and sophomore Carissa Henderson seventh in the 50 freestyle (25.48) and eighth in the 100 freestyle (57.24)
