2018-2019: Sophomore year Katherine broke 3 school records (100 backstroke, 200 backstroke, 200 freestyle) and placed in the top 4 in every event at the Great Midwest and Mountain East Conference Championships: 200 backstroke (2:03.35 / 1st), 100 backstroke (57.00 / 2nd), 200 freestyle (1:53.29 /  3rd), 1000 (10:44.12 / 4th), 400 medley A-relay (3:51.53 / 1st), 200 freestyle A-relay (1:38.13 / 3rd), 400 freestyle A-relay (3:37.80 / 3rd). Katherine was voted Most Valuable Swimmer of the season.

2017-2018: Freshman year at the Phoenix Fall Classic held at the University of Chicago, Katherine placed top eight in all of her events: 100 backstroke (5th), 200 backstroke (4th), 400 IM (6th). At the Calvin College Invitational, Katherine placed top eight in two events: 200 backstroke (6th), 100 backstroke (7th) with a new life time best time and school record (58.05), and she also swam the 200 IM. During the GMAC Conference Championships Katherine placed top eight in all of her events: 200 backstroke (2nd) with a lifetime best and new school record (2:04.74), 200 freestyle (3rd) with a lifetime best time, 100 backstroke (3rd), 200 IM (6th). Katherine was awarded GMAC Freshman Swimmer of the Year.

High School: Katherine attended Holland Christian and was their senior swim team captain…member of the chamber string group and Holland Area Youth Orchestra…Born November 6, 1998…Parents Brad and Sara Heeres…Siblings Sara, Jacob, and Maria.

Awards: School record holder in 100 backstroke, 200 backstroke, and 200 freestyle and part of 400 medley relay record...2017/2018 GMAC freshman swimmer of the year...two-time GMAC Swimmer of the week, Hillsdale College Swim Team Captain.
