Bio

2017/2018: Junior year, Anika was named junior captain of the swim team. At the Phoenix Fall Classic, Anika scored in all three events: 100 breaststroke (1st), 200 breaststroke (2nd), and 200 IM (9th). At the University of Calvin Invitational, Anika again broke her own school record and placed second in the 100 breaststroke (1:02.49), she placed first in the 200 breaststroke, and swam the 200IM. During the GMAC Conference Championship, Anika placed top 8 in all four events: 100 breaststroke (2nd), 200 breaststroke (3rd), 200 IM (4th), 400 IM (7th).

2016/2017: Sophomore year Anika continued to improve with more lifetime best times during the season. At the Phoenix Fall Classic held at University of Chicago, Anika placed first in both the 100 and 200 breaststroke. During GLIACs Anika placed fourth in the 100 breaststroke breaking her own school record (1:02.87) and qualifying for NCAA Nationals in March. She also placed fourth in the 200 breaststroke. At NCAA Anika swam both the 100 and 200 breaststroke.

2015/2016: Freshman year Anika had lifetime best times in the 100 and 200 breaststroke. She placed first at the Phoenix Fall Classic held at University of Chicago in the 100 breaststroke and third in the 200 breaststroke. At the GLIAC conference meet she placed second in the 100 breaststroke with a new school record (1:03.35) and placed ninth in the 200 breaststroke with another new school record (2:19.38). She was also the breaststroke swimmer for the new medley relay school record.

High School: Turned in several top-10 finishes at state competitions over the course of her career for Litchfield High School…Team MVP in 2014-15…Finished seventh in 2014 and fifth in 2015 at the state meet in the 100 meter breaststroke…Had a career-best time of 2:19.34 in the 200 IM and 1:06.13 in the 100 breaststroke…Member of the Hutchinson High Tides Swim Club…Graduated eighth in her class…Member of the National Honor Society…Named Student of the Year in the music, Spanish and science departments…Graduated Summa Cum Laude…Volunteered as a swimming coach in Litchfield, as well as volunteering at blood drives, food drives and bake sales…Born Jan. 13, 1997…Parents are James and Betsy.
