Sophomore Victoria Addis after her season best 100 breaststroke

The swim team traveled to the University of Chicago this weekend for the three day Phoenix Fall Classic. Starting Friday evening, the 400 medley A relay of Heeres, Ellingson, Voisin, and DeTar broke the oldest school record by a full second and a half (3:52.84) for second place. Every swimmer who swam that evening went season best times in their relay splits.
Anika Ellingson won the 100 breaststroke with a season best (1:03.25) and placed second by dropping almost three seconds in the 200 breaststroke (2:23.55). Victoria Addis finished ninth in the 100 breaststroke with a season best (1:07.05).
Charger butterfliers made four appearances in the 200 fly and Hannah Wilkens finished seventh (2:12.19). Grace Houghton had a huge season best for ninth place (2:08.18). Catherine Voisin just behind Houghton for tenth (2:15.04) and senior Peyton Bowen with almost a ten second time drop for fifteenth (2:16.46). Chargers had another four place in the 100 fly top sixteen. Voisin finished ninth with a big season best (57.89), Houghton eleventh (1:00.23), Allie Matti a close twelfth (1:00.27), and Tiffany Farris a close fourteenth (1:00.39).
Wilkens went a season best in prelims in the 200 IM (2:12.38) which qualified her to swim again at finals finishing eighth. Danielle LeBleu also swam the 200 IM with a sixth place finish and preliminary time of (2:13.08). Anika Ellingson went a lifetime best time in the 200 IM with a ninth place finish (2:12.20).
Katherine Heeres had a strong fourth place in the 200 backstroke for a season best (2:08.21). Heeres also finished fifth in the 100 backstroke (59.57). Matti dropped a total of 7.78 seconds in her 200 backstroke for a lifetime best and ninth place (2:09.32). Matti also dropped almost two seconds in the 100 backstroke to finish eight (1:00.64). Bailey Bickerstaff had a strong season best 100 backstroke (1:01.76) and fourteenth place finish. DeTar swam a season best preliminary 100 backstroke (1:01.26) and finished sixteenth in finals.
The 50 free competition was tough but DeTar made it in the top eight after winning a swim off and finished the day in seventh (24.76). Emma Rao went a big season best in the 50 freestyle for eleventh (24.98).
LeBleu swam a strong 54.21 in the 100 free and finished eleventh.
Wilkens dropped over almost seven seconds in prelims in the 400 IM and then another three seconds in finals to finish fourth (4:36.22). Katherine Heeres dropped over seven seconds from her preliminary 400 IM and finished sixth (4:44.32).
LeBleu dropped a second and a half from her preliminary 200 free and ended in eleventh (1:57.80). Mary Vita swam a lifetime best in the 200 freestyle (2:00.45) for fifteenth place. Voisin swam a lifetime best in the 500 freestyle (5:29.15) and a sixteenth place finish
The 200 medley A relay of Heeres, Ellingson, Voisin, and DeTar had a strong third place (1:48.23). The 800 freestyle A relay of Wilkens, Heeres, Houghton, and LeBleu finished 4th (7:58.27). The final 400 freestyle A relay of Heeres, Wilkens, LeBleu, and DeTar finished fifth (3:39.19).
