Chargers fall to Eagles on the road

The Hillsdale College Women's Basketball Team lost 95-60 on the road to the Ashland University tonight.

A close game to start got out of hand with two minutes remaining in the first quarter as the Eagles went on a 10-0 scoring run.

The game trended in such a way from there, as the Chargers kept pace in the second quarter when they held the Eagles to 21 points—their lowest scoring quarter in the game.

In the second half, however, they let the Eagles run away with the game as they out scored the Chargers 52-29.

The Hillsdale team held its own under the basket with 31 rebounds. The efforts there, however, were outweighed by the 18 turnovers committed on the game, which the Eagles converted for 26 of their points.

Sophomore guard Lauren Daffenberg led the Charger offense with 13 points, while junior guard Jaycie Burger added 11 points. Under the basket, freshman forward Sydney Mills snagged five rebounds, equaling the efforts of junior forward Amaka Chikwe who also added five. The two combined for nine points as well.

The Chargers, now 4-8, will enjoy a nice Christmas break until they return to play on Jan. 2 against Ursuline College at home.
