OVERVIEW

  • Hillsdale and Walsh are each sporting seven-game winning streaks heading into the final week in the 2018-19 regular seasons
  • The Chargers will honor their four graduating seniors in a pre-game ceremony Saturday afternoon
  • Last Thursday, Brittany Gray joined the 1,000-point club, a place teammates Allie Dewire and Makenna Ott reached earlier in the season
  • This is the first Hillsdale College women's basketball team to sport three 1,000-point scorers since 2006-07
  • The Chargers are outscoring their opponents by an average of 17 points per game during their current seven-game winning streak
  • Hillsdale entered the 2018 G-MAC Tournament as the #5 seed before winning the tournament
  • Rebounding has also been a big key to the Chargers' winning ways...In Thursday's win at Ohio Valley, Hillsdale set a single-gae (regulation) record with 64 rebounds
  • The Chargers are the G-MAC's best rebounding team, averaging 43.3 per game
  • Trevecca Nazarene is 2-0 vs. Hillsdale in Nashville, but lost last year's meeting at Hillsdale
  • Kentucky Wesleyan is playing for the G-MAC Tournament's #1 seed this week...It currently sits in first place and can clinch the top seed with two wins, at Findlay and at Hillsdale
  • KWC is the conference's highest-scoring team, averaging 77.7 points per game

POSTSEASON SCENARIOS

Hillsdale cannot fall below #5 in the G-MAC Tournament seeding...The Chargers have a two-game lead on Malone with two games to play, but the Chargers win the tiebreaker by virtue of their win over the Pioneers Dec. 6

The top four teams in the conference standings will host tournament quarterfinal games on Tuesday, March 5

Hillsdale can move into the #4 seed - earning a first-round home game - if it finishes this week with a better record than Findlay...The Chargers are currently one game behind the Oilers in the standings

The Chargers haven't hosted a conference tournament game since March 3, 2009

Kentucky Wesleyan currently sits in the #1 spot int he conference, but sits just one game ahead of both Cedarville and Walsh, so the #1 seed in next week's conference tournament is far from decided
