Box Score

The first game as a member of the Great Midwest Athletic Conference did not go as planned for the Hillsdale College women's basketball team.

The Chargers opened the game struggling to make shots from the field, fell behind and were never able to claw back in a 68-57 loss to Trevecca Nazarene in Nashville. Hillsdale falls to 2-3 overall and 0-1 in the conference.

Turnovers were another factor in the game. Hillsdale turned the ball over 22 times, compared to just 8 for the Trojans. As a result, Trevecca had a 24-6 scoring edge in points off turnovers. That helped it take a double digit lead before halftime, a lead that didn't vary much from that in the second half.

The Chargers opened the game missing 14 of their first 17 shots, but slowly found better offense as the game moved along. Hillsdale did perform well on the boards, holding a 49-27 rebounding edge over Trevecca in the game. Senior Allie Dittmer's 12 rebounds led the way for the Chargers in that department.

Junior Makenna Ott led the Chargers with 20 points, going 8-for-14 from the floor. Junior guard Allie Dewire compiled 9 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists, and senior guard Maddy Reed added 9 points in the game.
