In the first game away from home in two weeks, the Hillsdale College women's basketball team struggled shooting the ball in a 75-56 loss to Ohio Dominican University Saturday afternoon in Columbus.

The loss drops the Chargers to 5-9 overall and 4-6 in the GLIAC. Hillsdale will play its next three games at home, beginning with a matchup against Lake Erie College at 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 23.

ODU held Hillsdale to 33 percent shooting from the floor (18-for-54), while outrebounding the Chargers 48-35 in the game. The combined advantage in shooting percentage and rebounding added up to a big win for the Panthers.

ODU was particularly effective on the offensive glass, grabbing 20 offensive rebounds in the game. That helped the Panthers attempt 12 more field goal attempts than the Chargers. ODU also limited Hillsdale to 3-for-19 shooting (16 percent) from 3-point territory. That was the fewest made 3-pointers in a game for the Chargers all season.

Junior forward Megan Fogt was a bright spot in the game for Hillsdale, as she led the team with her 11th double double of the season, scoring 20 points to go along with 11 rebounds and a career-high 5 blocked shots. She shot 7-for-11 from the floor and made 6 of her 7 free throw attempts.

Fogt's 5 blocks give her 30 for the season, which already ranks her fifth on the school's single-season blocked shots list, and we still have 13 games left in the regular season. Fogt has 65 blocks in her career, which places her third on the school's career blocked shots list.

Sophomore Kayla Geffert added 7 points to the Hillsdale offense.
