Bio

Dale Royer was born and raised on a cattle ranch, high up in the mountains of Jackson, Montana. There he developed a tremendous love and respect for the great outdoors. From a very young age Dale has maintained a passion for helping people. He has been heavily involved with fundraising for the Shriners Hospitals for Children as well as St. Jude Children Research Hospital. In grade school, Dale began to develop his interest in politics by campaigning for state legislators. In high school he was heavily involved in the Montana state Youth Legislature Program, and at the age of 16 successfully ran for and won a local public office in Beaverhead County. In 2016, Dale was selected by the Beaverhead County Republican Committee to travel to the National Republican Convention as a page. There he met many of the top Republican leaders while working the convention floor and media booths.

Dale developed a thirst for competition at a young age and proved himself as a highly skilled archer at the age of seven. For eight years, Dale traveled all over the state of Montana competing in 4-H and NASP (National Archery in Schools Program) archery competitions. After traveling to a Junior Olympic Archery camp in Colorado Springs, Colorado, Dale wanted to pursue his Olympic Dream in the sport of archery. In 2012, after sustaining various injuries while working on the ranch, Dale had to quit shooting archery for a while to allow his shoulder to heal. In the meantime, his mother and father took him to the family shotgun range to see how his shoulder would do. From then on Dale has been proving his skills as a shotgun shooter, making multiple US teams and earning many national awards. Dale’s family has deep roots within the Olympic shooting sports with his uncle being a 1984 Olympian and his mother a World Champion in 1993 (Double Trap) and 1995 (Trap). Overall Dale’s family has been involved in Olympic Shooting Sports since 1968. In 2016, Dale moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado to live and train at the Olympic Training Center as a Resident Athlete. During that time he enrolled in classes at University of Colorado, Colorado Springs where he later earned his undergraduate degree in Economics.
