Bio

Caitlin Connor Royer is a native of Louisiana that began her shooting career at the age of 15 with the Winn Parish shooting sports program in Winnfield, Louisiana. From the very beginning Caitlin showed natural ability and skill beyond her years. While traveling with her local 4-H and SCTP team, Caitlin had the opportunity to meet Kim Rhode who was a three-time Olympian when they met. Kim gave a talk at the 2006 SCTP nationals in Detroit, Michigan about her success in Olympic Style Double Trap. From that day forward Caitlin pursued a dream of being an Olympic Shooter. In 2008, after a lot of hard work and high scores in Olympic Skeet, Caitlin was accepted as a resident athlete at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado. There she was able to hone her skills and take college classes in her free time. After many years of success on the world shooting stage, she decided to focus on her education and complete her undergraduate degree at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. There she received her undergraduate in Criminology, minor in Political Science, and associate’s degree in Criminal Justice. In 2017, Caitlin moved back to Colorado Springs as a resident athlete. Caitlin continued to hone her shooting skills as well as give back to the shooting community with various coaching engagements throughout the country and the state of Colorado. Caitlin was able to work toward her masters degree’s as a resident athlete through a partnership with DeVry University where she received her Master’s in Public Administration (2019) and a Master’s of Business Administration (2020). After getting married in 2020, Caitlin and her husband Dale Royer began traveling to Hillsdale, Michigan where they assisted in various camps and competitions at the Halter Shooting Sports Education Center. They both fell in love with the range. Caitlin is passionate about the second amendment as well as hunting, fishing, and conservation.

Throughout Caitlin’s shooting career she has been a part of many prestigious teams and accumulated many outstanding awards in 4-H, Scholastic Clay Target Program, National Sporting Clays Association, USA Shooting, and International Shooting Sports Federation.
