From the Range Master...

Summer is finally here! For the months of June and July, all of our clay target fields are open from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm on Saturday. This is a great time to get family and friends out to the range to enjoy the outdoors. We are open the weekend of July 1. The holiday weekend is usually one of our busiest.
Make sure you spend some time on the sporting clays course this year. It is a world-class course with great variety in target presentations which makes it fun for shooters of all skill levels. We also have four person carts available for $30.
On August 26, we will host the second annual Charger Classic, National Sporting Clays Association registered Sporting Clays Tournament. Click here to register.

Range Master
"We love to have visitors here at the Shooting Range. You're always welcome. There's no college in the country that has a facility like this."
Six-time Olympic Medalist Kim Rhode visited the Hillsdale College John A. Halter Shooting Sports Education Center on May 11. She is pictured here with Hillsdale College President Dr. Larry Arnn.
Charger Spotlight
Jordan Hintz
Senior Jordan Hintz started shooting competitively in the seventh grade after a coach noticed him shoot trap at the local gun club. An economics and math double major, Jordan has been on the Hillsdale team for four years. His favorite memory is this past National Championship, technically the last nationals for his class. “I think it’s awesome that Kyle and Casey graduated without losing a National Championship.” Additionally, Jordan said this nationals was “the stiffest competition we’ve ever had.” Hillsdale’s moto, Virtus Tentamine Gaudet, or “Strength rejoices in the challenge” is often seen as a source of inspiration to athletes and students alike. For Jordan, Virtus Tentamine Gaudet, means “the most difficult times brings out the best in everyone, and this is particularly true for a team.” After Hillsdale, Jordan hopes to continue to shoot competitively, perhaps coach shooting, and he would love to work in the firearms industry. Jordan speaks highly of his time with the Hillsdale shotgun team, “It certainly enhanced my college experience, I can’t even say how much.”
