From the Range Master...
We want to thank everyone for a great summer of shooting. Our Saturday Open Clays during June and July were the busiest we have ever seen. Please keep in mind that our Open Clays will resume on Thursdays in September.
Our Ladies for Liberty camp was a success once again. It is rewarding to see so many come to Hillsdale College to support our Second Amendment rights. The smiles were endless all week, and the ladies received quality instruction from our skilled staff. There is no better camp in the country.
August 26 is our second annual “Charger Classic” NSCA Sporting Clays Tournament. Last year we heard many comments on what a great event this is. We expect an even larger turnout this year. Register on Iclays to secure your time.
The sporting clays course will remain open through early November. There will be a few events that will affect our schedule, so feel free to contact us before you plan to shoot.

These innovative programs combine self-defense topics and expert handgun and shotgun training with short lectures on the liberal arts, the U.S. Constitution, and free-market economics.
Charger Spotlight | Emanuel Boyer
Senior Emanuel Boyer’s interest in Hillsdale began when he participated in the “Liberty and Learning” youth camp at the age of twelve: “Ever since then, I kind of just assumed this is where I would end up.” An economics and psychology double major, Emanuel found his niche with the team, “The very first night of my very first fall training camp….I had just met all of these older students who were incredible at shooting….They welcomed me into their group like a family. I knew overnight that I had found the most important facet of my life.” After graduation, Emanuel plans to attend medical school in hopes of becoming a surgeon. Shooting will always be a part of Emanuel’s life: “Immediately after graduation I probably won’t have the money to shoot much, but I’m never selling my gun. At this point, it has become a piece of who I am.” For Emanuel, Hillsdale College’s motto Virtus tenatmine gaudet, “means never settling. Never stop pushing yourself, never get comfortable, never decide that something is good enough.” He has applied this to his shooting career as well saying, “shooting continues to teach me to never give up, and that there is always margin for improvement.” Emanuel concluded saying, “I’m truly grateful for the opportunity and experience Hillsdale College has given me. Hillsdale is not a perfect institution, but it is the only institution in the world where I could lead the rewarding, enriching life that I do.”

“Hillsdale is a fantastic place where everyone is like minded—very much about the Constitution, very much about the Second Amendment and shooting and heritage sports,” said Rhode. “It’s a wonderful place for kids to go to college, learn about all of those things, and better themselves.”
