Hillsdale College Shotgun on Target at the ACUI Central Midwest Regional

The Hillsdale College Shotgun Team found success in nearly all events at the ACUI Central Midwest Regional on Oct 13th and 14th. Held in Sparta, IL, the event saw over 150 participants from 19 different colleges, but the Chargers came out on top.

Hillsdale braved the cold, rain, and clouds to perform well even in the biggest competition of the year so far. Breaking 1592 targets out of a possible 1750, Hillsdale triumphed over Oklahoma State University (1557) in second and Conners State College (1556) in third. Other schools in attendance include Purdue, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, University of Missouri, Iowa State, and Lindenwood.

Individually, Hillsdale was very successful as well. Senior Matt Grunzweig finished second high overall followed by Junior Lucas Pieraccini (5th) and Senior Emanuel Boyer (6th). Senior Amanda Klug finished 5th HOA lady. In American Skeet, Emanuel Boyer won the gold with a near-perfect 99 out of 100. Grunzweig and Pieraccini tied for second with 98. Grunzweig also tied for second in both American Trap (98) and Super Sporting (45). Klug tied for second in super sporting for ladies as well (37).

The Chargers are already training for their next competition: the SCTP Nationals in Marengo, Ohio on October 26th through 28th.
