Charger Softball "Support Our Stadium"

DEAR FRIENDS OF CHARGER SOFTBALL,

On behalf of the Women’s Softball Program, I am excited to announce the next step in our fundraising campaign to improve our stadium. Over the past 18 months, we raised enough money to build a structure with 120 flip-up stadium seats, including several wheelchair spaces and two wheelchair ramps. At the first game with the new seating—our doubleheader against Grand Valley State—every seat was filled. 

We are now ready to start work on a new backstop and begin to build a press box. The bacskstop will be a 24-foot-high net to replace the chain-link structure that has been in place for over 30 years. It will provide much-improved sight lines for spectators and greatly enhance the look of the facility. The press box will provide a working area for the several people who handle game-day duties, including the statistician, the announcer, and the official scorer. Those people currently reside in our dugout which is neither ideal nor professional.

Since Hillsdale does not accept federal or state funding, we need your support to complete construction by this spring. To help fund our stadium renovations, we are offering naming opportunities on the newly installed seats. More than half have already been claimed.
