Charger softball team adds second camp for July 21

The Hillsdale College softball team has added another opportunity for aspiring softball stars entering the ninth grade and older to come to campus and work with the Charger players and coaching staff on July 21.

On the heels of a June 15 single-day camp, Hillsdale will hold a second Pitcher's Camp and Showcase on Wednesday, July 21, offering instruction from the staff and players of a championship-level softball program that's reached the NCAA Division II tournament in three of the last four seasons, including this spring.

The pitcher's camp is set to begin at 9 a.m. on July 21 and is intended for athletes entering 9th grade or older. The camp will include pitching instruction provided by Hillsdale College Softball coaching staff and players, as well as access to the showcase camp session and showcase games later in the day.  Space is very limited in this camp with only 9 participant spots in order to ensure every athlete receives detailed instruction. Pitchers are expected to bring their own catcher for the beginning pitching session only.

Following the pitcher's camp at 9 a.m., the Chargers' full showcase camp begins at 10:15 a.m. and is also intended for high school players and those entering the 9th grade in the fall. The camp will include offensive and defensive instruction from Hillsdale College Softball's coaching staff and players, and players will be broken into squads to participate in two showcase games in the afternoon.

Cost for the showcase camp is $60 per player, and $85 for pitchers who are also participating in the pitcher's camp earlier in the day. You can find links to register for the camp and showcase here. Space is limited so be sure to register early to ensure your spot.

The Chargers also have a few spots left in the June 15 camp, so if you are interested in attending on the earlier date, you can still register for that one as well.

For any questions regarding either camp please contact Charger softball head coach Kyle Gross at kgross@hilsdale.edu.
